Having solved the matter of the Radiant Boy, Riley, Buttercup, and Bodhi are enjoying a well-deserved vacation. When Riley comes across a vicious black dog, against Bodhi’s advice, she decides to cross him over. While following the dog, she runs into a young ghost named Rebecca. Despite Rebecca’s sweet appearance, Riley soon learns she’s not at all what she seems. As the daughter of a former plantation owner, she is furious about being murdered during a slave revolt in 1733. It's hard not to fall in love with Riley and think of her as kid sister. She's defiant, strong willed and is on a mission to help those who are in need of assistance in crossing over. With Bodhi and Buttercup by her side, Riley finds herself in her toughest mission yet, though it's not really mission since she's on vacation when she stumbles upon Rebecca. Despite Bodhi's warning, Riley soon finds herself face to face with Rebecca, an evil spirit who takes delight in trapping the spirits of thoseShimmer is about a girl named Riley who died when she was twelve. After she died she crossed the "bridge" to "heaven".The heaven council gave her the job of trying to get other ghosts who haven't crossed the bridge to cross. Now, while she's on vacation a hell hound attacked her and against her guardians wishes, she chases after it and meets a girl named Rebecca.Rebecca, who lives on anger and fear, traps people in a bubble of their worst moments. She traps Rileys' guardian in her bubble and now
This must be my least favorite book in the series. I just could not care for Rebecca's character that much until later in the end (view spoiler)[when she forgave herself and those she trapped forgave her. (hide spoiler)] Her past and suffering on the hands of her father was really heart-breaking. No one should suffer like this.I think Riley learned a lot in this book and how she can forgive herself and that it is not her fault what happened. Also forgiveness was related to how Bodhi ended up

Oh gosh! I loved Shimmer! It was so cool! I had no idea, how the problem would've been solved! I never would have though of that! That girl is insane! I mean, can't she be a bit more open minded?! Well I get that she's mad but really?! Did she have to be so mean to all of those people?! It's insane! They were trapped and had to live their greatest nightmares over and over for who knows how many years?! It just really angers me.Riley is super cool. And she overcame the situation again. However,
After reading and enjoying the first book in this series titled Radiance, I couldn't wait to see what the author would come up next for Riley! I think these books are perfect for the younger teens, but as an adult, I enjoyed the series so far as well. This time around, Riley finds herself trying to help an angry ghost named Rebecca. Rebecca is angry about being murdered and is taking it out on other ghosts. Riley needs to convince her that she needs to forgive and let go.While this was a cute and
I loved Radiance and had high hopes for this book but it came up short. It was immensely boring, i had to force myself to read the whole thing. Probably won't read the rest of the series.
